ENA caught spinning lies again

AV, June 29, 3008:   The Ethiopian News Agency has been fabricating lies throughout its life. In its news dispatch of June 27, 2008, which has been relayed by the print and electronic media, it reported on the funeral ceremony of the late Zenawi Asres, father of the tyrant, who died at 82 (according to Walta) and 83 (according to ENA). As both propaganda machines are pathological liars it is not easy to take any news they churn out at face value.

ENA reported that the late Zenawi Asres was a figure much revered in the town of Adwa. ENA went on to claim that Meles Zenawi and his family were accompanied by senior government officials and more than 100, 000 town residents at the funeral. The same news story has even been read on TV and radio but it turned out that it was a big lie. The truth of the matter is Adwa has a population of 42,672 of which 20,774 are males and 21,898 females, according to the census of the government's own Central Statistics Agency.

Let us assume that every single soul, including children and the elderly, in the town attended the funeral of Legesse's father. So where did ENA get the extra 60,000 headcount exaggerated for a purpose like the double digit economic growth? Liar. liar, pants on fire!!!
