No regrets over making Ethiopia landlocked
Dictator
Meles Zenawi has said that he never regretted to have
allowed Eritrea to secede with 1000 km of coastline that has
ended Ethiopias access to the Red Sea since time
immemorial. Answering questions in Tigrigna sent to him by
listeners on Dimsti Weyane Tigray, the tyrant claimed
that his decision to surrender all of
Ethiopias
coastlines has never affected any development endeavours.
Disregarding the fact that foreign ports cost the poor
nation over $300 million annually, surpassing hard currency
earnings from coffee export,
Meles said that there is no correlation between development
and the loss of the nations ports. He claimed that the
country has accelerated economic development in the last
four years.
He also told his listeners that the root-cause of the bloody
Ethio-Eritrean conflict was political and economic rather
than a dispute over tiny villages.
